US Coalition on Sustainability Launches a Solutions Drop™ Series on Earth Day
Focus on Single-Use Plastic Elimination in Partnership with the State University of New York, Six Senses, Earth Day.org and co-hosted by Salesforce
The US Coalition on Sustainability (USCS) is thrilled to announce the launch of the Solutions Drop™ series on Earth Day, an unique event focused on driving immediate action and collaboration to address pressing sustainability challenges. The first-ever event will focus on the elimination of single-use plastics, aligning with Earth Day's 2024 focus and in partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY), Six Senses, and Salesforce.
The Solutions Drop™ is a first of its kind exchange powered by SustainChain™ for industry leaders, experts, and innovators to share their needs, learnings, solutions, and opportunities with one another in a live and dynamic setting. All solutions presented during the event will simultaneously be made public on SustainChain, the premier global connection hub for innovators and leaders.
The inaugural Solutions Drop celebrates the State University of New York’s (SUNY’s) recent policy announcement to eliminate single-use plastics across its 64 campuses. “Earth Day is a wonderful time to bring together allies and unite their efforts to halt climate change,” said US Coalition on Sustainability founder Jacqueline Corbelli, “SustainChain is specifically built to support and accelerate the journey of leaders in sustainability like SUNY toward a plastic-free future by sharing solutions, best practices, and learnings.”
Carter Strickland, Chief Sustainability Officer for SUNY, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: "SUNY is committed to eliminating single-use plastics across our 64 campuses, and we're excited to collaborate with the US Coalition on Sustainability, Six Senses, Salesforce, and Earth Day.org to make this vision a reality. Our challenge is to coordinate the phase-out of plastics at campuses that are distributed across New York State as well as with the many internal and external stakeholders who are critical to successful implementation, and the Solutions Drop provides an invaluable platform for sharing knowledge and resources to drive meaningful change."
Six Senses, a global leader in sustainable hospitality, will also provide an exclusive preview of its plastics-free playbook, featuring solutions and best practices to 82 hotel items, derived from 5 years of experience on their own sustainability journey. Other solution providers, innovators, and experts will also be at the event, joining the hub to continue the work of providing solutions to organizations all working to eliminate single-use plastics across their value chains.
Jeffrey Smith, Vice President of Sustainability at Six Senses, added: "We're thrilled to share our plastic free playbook to enable others to leverage our learnings and solutions to 82 plastic hotel items. No one is perfect and our journey is ongoing. Partnering with SustainChain allows us to build an ecosystem of partners that can continue to grow and benefit from these insights."
Kathleen Rogers, President of Earth Day.org, emphasized the importance of platforms like SustainChain: "In order to tackle the pressing issue of single-use plastics, it's crucial that we have a neutral and trusted platform like SustainChain to help build a sharing ecosystem. This novel exchange of learnings will help us all, collectively, move faster towards a more sustainable future."
USCS is also proud to announce that Salesforce, the #1 AI CRM, will co-host the event series as a strategic partner of SustainChain.
The launch of the Solutions Drop™ series on Earth Day, in alignment with Earth Day's theme on plastics, demonstrates USCS's commitment to driving meaningful change and promoting a more sustainable future for all. Earth Day president Kathleen Rogers will join the event to help mark the occasion of using SustainChain to make solutions to eliminate single-use plastics accessible for all.
